The Gunnison High School (GHS) cross country team brought their top 7 runners from both boys and girls teams to a race in Alamosa on September, 9th. The 5k race in Alamosa was the first of the season for the Cowboy runners and was a good way to start the season for both teams. The girls took 4th place overall with a top ten placer, Jemma Petrie and a champion, Madelyn Stice. The boys team had a ninth place finish with Spencer Hayes just shy of being top ten by placing eleventh. Both teams had several personal records. Come support your local runners on Saturday, September 16 behind Gunnison Middle school for their first and only home meet.
