Choir and Band finish off the School Year Strong
May 19, 2023
Choir and band both finished up their year on a good note. Both ended with a concert to honor their seniors, and also attended Colorado West Music Festival in Grand Junction.
All of Ms. Jauregui’s choirs, Belle Voix, Concert and Show, went to Colorado West music festival. When asked about it Jauregui said that “It went really really well. Our Belle Voix choir won 1st place for the second year in a row and one of the judges gave us a perfect score.”
All choirs finished off the year with one last concert on May 17. They performed a variety of pop songs, and the Show Choir got to arrange their own music which was a first for them. This concert also honored the seniors with their senior solos. Angel Hennigh performed “My Way” by Frank Sinatra and Blue Noble performed “Underground” by Cody Fry.
Band also got the chance to perform at Colorado West. Band teacher, Mr. Koepsel, said “we performed really well. Although we were missing a key player we pulled it off and got a really good score. I think it had a lot to do with the songs we played being “Legend of Knife River” and “Zoom!”.
They had their last concert on May 9th however, they have plans to go to Music at the park at Elitch Gardens in Denver after school gets out. On the 15th they had an award ceremony for their two seniors, Jaime Perez and Nick Ferraro.
Both are excited for what is to come next year and to be able to teach new students with a love for music just like them.
