The GHS class SLC plans dances, pep assemblies, and school spirit days more than a month in advance to prepare to make the activity as fun as possible. This year SLC got right to work planning for 2023’s winter ball right after winter break. Winter ball is a dance that is winter themed and is where the girls ask the guys instead of the guys ask the girls. Ms. Wise said “We have to make phone calls, advertise, buy decorations and just try to get as many people to show up as we can.” This year’s winter ball was held at the Gunnison High School commons and many said it was really fun. Aubrey Welfelt said “I thought it was really good and I thought that there was good music.” Aubrey also said how this year’s dj, which was just the school for this dance, was better than the dj at homecoming: “I thought it was a lot better than a dj because we got to choose the best music for dancing.” Now SLC is starting on their next project which is prom. This year prom is going to be Vegas themed and is on April 29th 2023.
