There is a wide variety of music tastes among Gunnison High School (GHS) students. There have always been new songs and albums released for everyone to enjoy throughout the years. Our emotions are expressed through music, and we are shaped by it in a unique way. As well as influencing our mood, music also affects factors we cannot control ourselves and thus has a behavioral and neural influence. The sound of music gives a person chills. Brain dopamine is released when it is triggered. We’ve listed our students’ favorite music here, along with why they like it.

Our top most liked genres of music from our students would be Pop and Rock, but classic rock came top from soft rock and Indie rock. Throughout the student’s choices, there were also other genres of music like Country, Sythwave R&B, Celtic and Violin, and Hip Hop. Even if people have the same type of genre of music in common, their favorite song choices are much different. The list has different types of songs from each student.
